Application Instructions

We STRONGLY recommend that all shirt prints are applied by heat press (this service is available from most t-shirt printing stores).

Nameblocks are supplied in a straighline (unless otherwise specified when ordering). If you have received a straight nameblock but want it curved you can DIY the curve by drawing around the edge of a round plate to use as a template.

A household iron will not apply the nameset correctly and will cause damage to the nameset and/or shirt. This is because an iron does not keep a constant temperature or constant, even pressure.

Do not heat longer than advised otherwise this can cause the shirt colour to run through to the nameset. Colour run or 'bleed-through' occurs when the dye in a football shirt comes through the nameset material due to a too high pressure being used or length of time used to apply nameset is too long.
For shirts that are darker colour (eg: Inter Milan, Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich) than the nameset being applied it is recommended to half the application time when applying.

If you have any questions about application please email prior to application for clarification.
We cannot accept any responsibility for damage that may arise during application.

With new shirts we recommend that it is washed and dried thoroughly before applying a nameset.

We recommend that you do not wash your shirt for at least 24-48 hours after applying the nameset. Always wash the shirt inside-out and on a low temperature (30C). Air dry only.

For dual layer namesets - Outer layer to be applied first following the guidelines below. Allow to cool completely. Then repeat the process for the inner layer.

  • Make sure the heat press is clean before applying the nameset.
  • Pre-press your shirt between 3-5 seconds at 160C to remove any creases or moisture.
  • Peel off any backing from nameset/patch
  • Position the letters and numbers or patch carefully onto the football shirt in the correct position.
  • Cover the nameset with a Teflon sheet, silicon sheet or equivalent.
  • Apply the heat at 130C for 7-9 seconds at medium/firm pressure.
  • Allow print to cool slightly and slowly peel off the plastic cover.
  • If the name and/or number do not fully stick, stop peeling, recover and repeat the application process for a further 3-4 seconds.
