STEP-BY-STEP

APPLYING YOUR SPONSOR

Take your time with positioning and application. A few careful checks before pressing can make a big difference to the final result.

01
PREPARATION

PREPARE & PRE-PRESS THE SHIRT

Lay the shirt flat and make sure the chest area is clean, smooth and free from creases.

PRE-PRESS Pre-press the application area for 5 seconds.
02
POSITIONING

POSITION THE SPONSOR

Carefully position the sponsor across the chest. Make sure it is centred, level and sitting in the correct position before applying any heat.

TIP Use the centre line of the shirt as a reference and check the positioning from more than one angle before pressing.
03
PROTECTION

COVER WITH A PROTECTIVE SHEET

Place a suitable protective sheet over the entire sponsor before applying heat.

IMPORTANT Never apply the heat press directly onto the sponsor or its carrier without a protective sheet.
04

Once pressing is complete, allow the application to cool correctly before removing the carrier.

DTF ALLOW TO COOL SLIGHTLY
FLOCK ALLOW TO COOL BEFORE PEELING
06
INSPECTION

CHECK THE APPLICATION

Carefully inspect the entire sponsor after peeling. Check all letters, details and edges to make sure everything has fully adhered to the shirt.

CHECK Pay particular attention to fine details, corners and individual lettering.
07
ONLY IF NEEDED

RE-PRESS ONLY IF REQUIRED

If the sponsor is fully adhered, no further pressing is required.

IF AN AREA HAS NOT FULLY ADHERED Replace the protective sheet and re-press only as necessary.
REMEMBER: Do not automatically apply a second press if the sponsor has already fully adhered.
GET IT RIGHT FIRST TIME

COMMON MISTAKES
TO AVOID

Sponsor transfers are highly visible on a football shirt. Taking a little extra time with positioning and application can make a big difference to the finished result.

01 ×

USING THE WRONG SETTINGS

DTF and flock sponsors require different temperatures and pressing times. Always identify which type of sponsor you have before applying heat.

REMEMBER DTF 115°C · Flock 145°C
02 ×

SKIPPING THE PROTECTIVE SHEET

Always cover the entire sponsor with a suitable protective sheet before applying heat. Never press directly onto the sponsor or its carrier.

REMEMBER Protect before you press.
03 ×

RUSHING THE POSITIONING

A sponsor that is slightly off-centre or not level can be very noticeable. Check its position carefully across the chest before applying any heat.

REMEMBER Centre it. Level it. Check it.
04 ×

PEELING TOO EARLY

Allow the application to cool correctly before removing the carrier. DTF should cool slightly, while flock should be allowed to cool before peeling.

REMEMBER Give the application time to cool.
05 ×

UNNECESSARY RE-PRESSING

If the sponsor has fully adhered after the first press, there is no need to press it again. Only re-press an area that has not completely adhered.

REMEMBER Only re-press when required.
PROTECT YOUR FINISH

AFTERCARE

Correct aftercare will help protect your newly applied sponsor and keep your football shirt looking its best.

48 HOURS
BEFORE WASHING

GIVE THE SPONSOR TIME TO SET

Leave the shirt for at least 48 hours after applying the sponsor before washing it.

01
PREFERRED

HAND WASH

Hand washing is preferable and gives you greater control when cleaning a shirt with an applied sponsor.

02
MACHINE WASHING

KEEP IT COOL

If using a washing machine, use a quick cycle at a low temperature of no more than 30°C.

03
EXTRA PROTECTION

TURN IT INSIDE OUT

Turn the shirt inside out and place it inside a washing bag before putting it into the washing machine.

04
DRYING

ALWAYS AIR DRY

Allow your football shirt to air dry naturally after washing to help protect the shirt and applied sponsor.

!
IMPORTANT

NEVER DO THESE

×
NEVER TUMBLE DRY

High temperatures can damage both the shirt and the applied sponsor.

×
NEVER IRON OVER THE SPONSOR

Do not apply an iron directly over the sponsor or other applied printing.

CARE FOR THE SHIRT. PROTECT THE FINISH.
